Last week, the kids are too excited having their Tok Pa & Tok Ma in Brisbane. The five days visit don't promise them luxury sight-seeing around Brisbane as we also seldom 'jalan-jalan' in Brisbane or Queensland or Australia. The must go attraction that every visitor should experience is feeding the kangaroo-Lone Pine Koala Sanctury, look Brisbane from the Brizzzz view-Mt. Cootha, feel the sunshine state at South Bank, City Tour, City Cat cruise of Brisbane River, and shooping at DFO. Thank you Tok Pa & Tok Ma...

Kolam Golf Corinda, Brisbane !!!

Bermula 16 November 2008 sehingga sepanjang minggu berikutnya, ribut taufan, hujan, banjir mengeggarkan bumi Brisbane. Mengikut laporan media, banjir dan ribut taufan yang melanda merupakan yang terburuk sejak tiga dekad yang lalu. Kelab golf yang menjadi tumpuan biasa untuk beriadah dan bersukan ini tenggelam hampir 45% daripada keseluruhan lapanganya. Anak-anak terperanjat melihat fenomena ini. Kelab Golf Corinda ini merupakan lapangan golf umum. Dengan bayaran AUD$10, anda boleh bermain tanpa had selepas jam 1 petang. Untuk bermain sebelah pagi pula, sebagai pelajar anda berhak mendapat konsesi dan hanya membayar AUD$12 untuk permainan 18 lubang. Manakala lapangan pendek (pitch & put), bayaranya AUD$7 untuk 18 lubang dan AUD$5 untuk 9 lubang.

‘Jacaranda’, the magnificent spring in Brisbane
|

Since the first time I arrived in Brisbane, the most wonderful scene during Spring was the purple look. Jacaranda or its scientific name ‘Jacaranda Mimosifolia’ is a native tree in South America has been widely planted in Brisbane. You can easily see this purple flower tree along the road or street in Brisbane. This year I’m not disappointed as I’m able to shoot some photos of the bloom of Jacaranda around St.Lucia.

Athens 1 ...the Kembara Ilmu Journey

Never in my mind that I'll reach Athens, Greece for what any reason. Alhamdulillah, with Allah wills, I was in Athens on May 2008 to present a paper at the 6th International Conference on Communication and Mass Media. The conference trip, really tells me how wonderful is Greece.

Outing to Coochiemudlo Island

This is the first ever real outing or 'jalan-jalan' that we had after almost 30 months in Brisbane. This is quite relaxing island. Unfortunately when we arived on this island, rain starts to drop.

The conference day. It's held at International Conference Centre, University of Shanghai. The location is about 15km from the hotel. The conference venue was awesome.

On the first day arrived, I spent some time to view around. I choose to take a look at Daning Botanical Garden ... Daning, the location of Four Points Shereton Hotel is about 7km from the Shanghai city centre. Limited English speaking among local, makes me uncomfortable to go far beyond my hotel. I'm bit frustrated as my Canon camera out of batteries. So I snap the photos using my HD handy cam (Sony HDR-SR1) still photo function to record the views ... Alhamdulillah I still get what I want.
